My Love Song

Never have I had a lover like she, 

Genuine, selfless and pure

In her love for me. 

A love that makes me feel secure. 

She built our love upon trust and respect

And embraced all my imperfections. 

To her I was imperfectly perfect

And she showered me with her affections.

To love and to cherish.

And gave me courage to stand up for what's right. 

She taught me to be empathetic to others' sufferings

And without expecting returns, to help them in their plight. 

She is my biggest supporter

But also rebuked me when need be. 

Not for myself to alter

But to bring out the best version of me. 

She is everything I could ask for

And so much more. 

I was broken and lonely before

But with her, my real self was restored. 

I looked into the mirror

And met her eyes peering into my soul

And I heard her sweetly whisper, 

"I love you with all my heart and soul".
